In mid-March of 2020 as the pandemic continued for weeks and then months, the HVALF Education Committee saw our labor movement’s continued focus on basic needs, we also saw that those needs were best met through partnership. The hyper-focus on meeting the basic needs of the communities we serve and live in inspired the formal formation of a collaborative between labor and community.
The August 7, 2020 edition of the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation (HVALF)’s First Fridays virtual series focused on building solidarity between labor and community groups. The HVALF Education Committee’s commitment to building upon our existing partnerships that existed pre-pandemic became a pillar of strength as we all moved forward to address the complex medical and social impacts of the pandemic.
The 2021 Labor Notes and HVALF online Summer School for Troublemakers: Secrets of a Successful Organizer series is made possible with support from the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation.
We look forward to having you join us for an action-filled summer of getting in good trouble together!

Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.
